| | yourACT Acting Studios Atlanta has been one of the leading acting schools in Atlanta for 10 years. We are proud to be an affiliate of the prestigious Margie Haber Studio, voted the Backstage Reader's Choice Award two years in a row for Favorite Cold Reading/Audition Class in Los Angeles. Author of the book "How to Get the Part without Falling Apart", Margie Haber teaches workshops worldwide. yourACT founders Della Cole and Bob Harter trained with Margie and her elite group of instructors in L.A. in order to teach the famous "Haber Audition Technique" as an addition to our other Atlanta acting classes. yourACT provides a complete program of adult on-camera and voice-over training for TV, film, and commercials. Courses cover all aspects of acting from auditions to the realities of performing on the set or in the studio. You'll receive in-depth instruction, honest critique, and constructive suggestions as you enhance your abilities and build your confidence. In the 3 evening Intro to On-Camera class beginning actors learn how to slate, script analysis, and more while working on-camera each class. The 8-week course, On-Camera Acting I includes a "Business of Acting" seminar. For more experienced actors, the 8-week On-Camera Acting II culminates in a visit by one of Atlanta’s top agents to critique film and television scenes. The Beginning Voice-Over class introduces you to microphone technique, how to interpret copy, delivery and more as your become familiar with this exciting field. The 8-week Intermediate Voice-Over class also includes "Business of Voice Acting” and an agent visit. The 6-week Voice-Over Demo workshop is dedicated to producing a professionally edited 60 second Voice-Over demo, suitable to upload to your agent's website, mail to production companies, or to submit by email as an MP3. Working professionals can keep their skills sharp in our ongoing classes, Film/TV Audition or Master Voice-Over. Pros still need to train to stay competitive. Training on-camera or in front of a mic, then receiving critique and feedback is a great way to keep your acting chops ready to go for those auditions! We also offer special workshops such as Standup Comedy as well as Sketch Comedy with Atlanta's premiere Sketch Comedy troupe, Sketchworks. | | Kids & Teens have fun while learning how to perform for camera and on stage, learning how to become the character, while being honest, truthful, and natural. There are three 4-month sessions each year, which include a Business of Acting Seminar for parents plus a visit by one of Atlanta's top agents to give the kids & teens feedback on their on-camera scenes, projected on the widescreen, and parents get to see them perform live onstage to see what they’ve learned. Each grade group is limited to 14 so each student gets the personal attention they deserve. We concentrate on reinforcing their strengths, while recognizing their individual needs. Realizing that young actors need a well-rounded acting program, yourACT has tailored its classes for Kids & Teens to teach them what it's really like to work on-camera and on stage, plus give them an opportunity to experience the thrill and challenge of improvisation. Each student learns the fundamentals of acting in a supportive and energetic environment. Developing at their own pace, they explore the art and craft of acting! The kids are divided into groups by grades: 2nd through 4th, 5th & 6th, and 7th & 8th. Our 2-hour Saturday classes take the kids through three 40-minute sessions. They experience 40 minutes of improvisation, then on to the studio for 40 minutes of on-camera acting for film, TV and commercials, and 40 minutes to practice their stagecraft in our 100-seat theatre. They learn to use imagination, creativity, concentration, and focus to create strong, believable characters, whether in front of a camera or on stage. The teens also work on-stage and on-camera in a different format with a single instructor. Whether on stage or acting for film & TV, they gain discipline and focus. Improv allows them the freedom to explore their imagination and unlock their emotions. We choose scripts that deal with the issues and concerns faced by teens every day. The instructors at yourACT are all professional working actors who will help teens avoid the common pitfalls and show them how to connect their dreams to reality.
